Miller time and Bath time!

Lia had some fun patting Miller's head this afternoon when he laid down beside her on the floor. He is so sweet to her. I have been trying to teach her "gentle" when she pets both Miller and Gus because she likes to grab hold and pull out hair! Today she accidentally pulled out one of Miller's whiskers, oops, but he didn't even flinch : )We had fun in the bath tonight. Lia's hair has a mind of its own on a good day. We used the shampoo to make it cooperate for a little photo op. She sported a cool mohawk and was happy to pose for the photos!

Gus..

...had to go to the vet this morning for the first time in about 4 years! Ever since a rather traumatic procedure, which I won't go into detail about, a few years ago, Gus has been absolutely terrified of going to the vet or of even leaving the house at all actually. Thank goodness I was able to find a mobile vet who comes out once a year to give Gus his vaccinations here at the house! Well, last time the vet was here he said that Gus' teeth really needed to be cleaned and possibly some removed because his gums were swollen and sore. Of course, I didn't think much of it knowing that Philip would be none too happy to pay for Gus to "go to the dentist." Well, over the last 6 months or so, Gus has been having more and more accidents around the house. Lately things have gotten so bad that we are having to replace the flooring in the study and dining room. Our whole house smells and we are at the end of our rope! I got to thinking that maybe his mouth was bothering him so bad that he was acting out, thus we made the trip to the vet this morning to have things checked out. As it turns out, she doesn't think his mouth (which she did agree is in bad shape) is causing the accidents, but did recommend getting the cleaning before it gets any worse. She prescribed anxiety medicine for the bathroom problem and I'm praying that they fix this issue! I know it sounds crazy to put your cat on anxiety meds, but judge me all you want, I don't care! I am willing to try anything to end the bad behavior! Here is a pic of the little guy in his carrier. He was freaking out from the minute we left the house to the minute we got home...

Fun at the beach...

It was supposed to rain the whole time we were at the beach last week, but we got really lucky! We were blessed with sunshine every day, and we had a wonderful time. It was Lia's first trip to Gulf Shores, and she loved it!

Pretty day at the beach

Playing in the exersaucer that Mimi got for the beachLunch at Bahama Bob's - so much fun!

On the boardwalk with Mimi
First time playing in the sand!

Sand!

Lia and I went to the beach for a few days this week, and she had her first experience with sand! She liked it for the most part. The first time she touched it with her hands, she made a horrible face, but soon after she was playing with it! Here is the video:

Lunch with our Dads

Keri, Sage, Lia and I met Ryan and Philip for lunch at BJ's last week. Fun!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was Philip's 28th birthday! He left work early and came to Lia's swimming lesson to watch her swim for the first time. She was so happy to have him there and kept smiling up at him from the water. He videoed the whole time and said he felt like a proud Daddy!! I also made him his favorite dinner, his mom's chicken casserole recipe, as a surprise. Lia and I went to CVS on Tuesday where she helped me pick out a card for Daddy. As you can see in the photos, she really liked the card!! We had such a great day, and we really hope Daddy enjoyed his birthday!

Teeth!!

Well, I have yet to get a picture of them, but Lia now has 2 teeth! She sprouted her first (front bottom left) a couple of days ago, then this morning I noticed that the other bottom tooth had also appeared! She is just growing up too fast for me. She had a snack of little cut up pieces of banana yesterday and did a great job "chewing" and swallowing each bite. As soon as I get a good pic of her teeth, I will post again...
